feeling a bit crummy

I've had a bit of a difficult day today - yet AGAIN I'm having problems going to the toilet (I had real massive problems before Christmas) and despite taking dissolving laxatives I'm not going, which is a) making me feel like crap and b) meaning my weight loss (if since Sunday) isn't showing. A SP suggests I HAVE lost weight, but I think it would be more if I could just go and have a poo! (TMI SORRY!)

I've just been feeling low in general today - I walked past a mirror whilst in Next earlier and I just thought WTF, you look horrific - fat and horrible and blergh. Hopefully after a couple of weeks on plan I will be settled again and feeling better, and I know it's always the first week that is the hardest getting used to everything again.

Today, anyhow:

B: Porridge = 5ppts
L: Turkey & Ham Subway = 7ppts
Apple = 0ppts
D: Stir Fry = 13ppts
S: Veg Soup (homemade) = 1ppts
WW Chocolate Slice = 5ppts

I made a big batch of soup earlier, to save money and to have something to eat as a snack if I'm feeling hungry - I bung a load of veg in with some stock and then put a tablespoon of curry paste in to make it a bit spicy - but for 1ppt its delish! Dinner was stir fry but I over pointed that as I didn't have half of it and I didn't half the oil or the soy sauce so would be about 10ppts really, but best to overpoint.

We walked the 3 miles into town earlier - I'm finding it really hard exercise wise at the moment, my back is KILLING me and is so painful a lot of the time - I should see the doctor really about getting some anti-inflammatories but they usually bugger my stomach about (make me constipated) so I don't want to really get any, oddly I prefer to just ride the pain instead of taking medication. I've got to go back and get a prescription anyhow so I'll ask then.

Tried to find some boots today in the sale but couldn't for love nor money - there were a nice pair in Brantano but they were £100! I don't think so!

I think I'm going to get an early night tonight as I was up uber early - half five! Sitting with a green tea and Rob is watching the television, I think I'll go and relax in a bit.

Happy Slimming =)

mondaaay.

Hello lovelies.

I'm back from my Mum's and I had a lovely time - it was so good to see her and my Nana (and even a stealth visit from my auntie, uncle and cousin) and we had a good time.

I managed to stay completely on track despite my Mum's convincing act that it was our "holiday" as we'd not seen each other for nearly three weeks. I was planning on cooking a Quorn Cottage Pie for dinner but then Mum said she didn't fancy the ol' veggie mince, so I had to rethink, without my eSource! Yikes!

I had porridge in the morning before I left and was armed with Slim a Soups and fruit in case Mum hadn't stocked up, in the end I didn't eat all of it anyhow. I had a turkey and ham Sub for lunch and a Go Ahead bar and then went to the local Garden Centre - the food there is immense (think scones, cakes, ice cream, roast dinners!) but I just sat with a diet coke whilst everyone else ate - a bit sad really but I'd already had lunch and I wasn't going to go over points or risk binging.

Dinner was a tomato and basil chicken with potato ready meal from Sainsburys and I treated myself to a BGTY Chocolate pudding dessert which was really nice for 5ppts. In the evening I had a shortbread biscuit for 2ppts (pretty good I thought) and had some more fruit (pineapple, I'm obsessed with it!). I need to make sure I don't eat TOO much fruit, as it can have an adverse effect on the weight loss.

In the end I had 28/37ppts, although I didn't do any exercise of any note at all.

Today has been much of the same, sticking to plan - I had porridge for breakfast round my Mum's and then a Morrisons Eat Smart Chilli Bowl for lunch - really filling and 7ppts! We've got mustard and soft cheese stuffed chicken with baby new potatoes and veg for dinner, and I'll have about 10ppts left over.

Managed a brisk walk into Norwich from Mum's today and a wander round, so that's my 30mins of activity done, although I'm not going to note it. I need to dust the Wii off and get going on that, no way we can afford a gym membership at the moment!

Hope you've all had a brilliant start to 2011 :)

Happy Slimming =)

stats.

So, I took my measurements today and a couple of photos.

Right Upper Arm: 14 3/4 inches
Waist: 42 1/3 inches
Hips: 47 1/2 inches
Right Thigh: 28 inches
Neck: 14 2/3 inches
Calf: 16 inches

There isn't a huge discrepancy between the measurements I took just before I stopped doing WW in June and those above, apart from the arm measurement which is higher than it was when I first started the WW journey back last March! Not sure what that is all about!

Here are a couple of photos - not very flattering at all!

I hate this ^ one - I look pregnant! :(

Anyway, I'll take them each month/two months and hopefully see the difference!

NY!

Happy New YEAR!

There is nothing quite like the start of a new year to make you feel positive. I started off today by eating a bowl of porridge and going for a long, long walk; despite the fact I had a bit of a muddled head from half a bottle of cava and no food the night before...whoops!

I hope you all had a lovely evening - we stayed in and watched television and cracked open the cava at around 11pm - loads of fireworks were going off even then and when the bells chimed there was a spectacular display down the road - I think I saw more fireworks last night than I did for the last two guy fawkes night combined!

As a general rule, I don't really make resolutions because I'm hopeless at keeping them. This year I would like to be closer to my goal weight (or at it, if I work hard enough) and to get fitter - I was getting there in the summer but when I stopped tracking my points I generally stopped doing as much walking, and lost the rhythm. When I reach 15st I would like to do the C25k plan, and will invest in a sports bra to aid this venture!

The good thing about living by the coast is there are lots of wonderful walks or runs to be had by the sea, and it's very picturesque. Obviously the weather isn't great at the moment but there is a lot to be said of wrapping up warm and embracing the chill, walking quickly to get warm.

Yesterday I used some of my weekly allowance to have some cava, although because I didn't have dinner I wasn't far over my daily points. I don't think I'm going to be using them very often as we don't go out that much, but it's nice to know they are there if I need them.

I'm looking forward to my tea later, pork loin with kale!

Here is to 2011 - may your dreams come true xxx

Happy Slimming =)

the one with the day...one.

Well, I'm sitting here and Rob is watching a highly questionable film, so I thought I'd do a quick update.

I woke up really early due to Rob starting work at six, and pottered around for a while drinking green tea. It's been really foggy here (and still is) so after sunrise I decided to go for a long walk along the sea front - although I couldn't see much further than about five metres in front of me which was a little scary!

I walked over to where the meeting was supposed to be held -the library was open but the meeting wasn't on - damn! Meaning I couldn't collect the ProPoints stuff - so I'm going to have to get it on Ebay.

I weighed myself this morning on what will be WI day at home, and I was 16st 12lbs. I'm probably going to go to Boots once a week too, making sure that the scales are correct - so I'll do that tomorrow and just check that I'm not like 17st 4lbs or something (cross my fingers that I'm not!).

Today I've been on ProPoints and to be honest I've not felt that different from what it felt like to be on the old Points. I had stir fry for dinner which was obviously higher in PPts than what PTS were, but then I've got more PPts to use (37). I think I'm going to calculate what the OLD points would be too, just as a guide - I don't want to be eating 25+ OLD pts a day because I don't think I'll be losing.

I'm going to give ProPoints a bash and if it doesn't work for me, I'll go back to the old points system.

Today I used 33pts of 37pts:

B: 2 Clemetines = 0ppts
Melon = 0ppts
WW Lemon cake = 2ppts

L: Morrisons French Onion Soup = 3ppts
2 Morrisons Crumpets = 5ppts
Velvet Crunch = 2ppts

D: 165g chicken breast = 5ppts
Amoy Fine Noodles (straight to wok) = 6ppts
Light Soy Sauce = 1ppts
Stir Fry veg = 1ppts
Pinapple = 0ppts
Mince Pie (eek, but I had enough left over) = 7ppts

S: 50g of smoked salmon = 2ppts

So thats 33ppts out of 37. I also earned 5 Activity Points for 1hr of walking, although I don't really take any of that into account because I haven't got the pedometer (maybe for my birthday!).

I bought a couple of Eat Smart meals from Morrisons that were half price - I've not calculated the ppts but if they are really high Rob can have them ;)

Over and out!

Happy Slimming =)

lalala.

Well... A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to my readers, if I have any left?
l.
I'd like to say I hit my 25lb target off for Christmas, but as you can imagine from my absence on my blog it was the other way - I've put ON 25lbs since the end of October - truly dreadful. I've had health problem after health problem and I've been gorging on food, doing little exercise and just being totally complacent, watching my weight sky rocket back up to nearly 17st :(

So. I only have myself to blame. Rob has on more than one occasion said to me I should stop eating xyz and my excuse was that we had parties, or we had family over, or I was stressed, or I was hungry, or or or.

A lot has changed in the last couple of months, not just my weight. We've moved into a flat by the coast which is much better than the last place we had and somewhere I can finally adjust to being home (or have so far). My M.E has gotten worse like it pretty much every winter. Money is tight because of aforementioned house move and I'm not working. Hopefully this will change in the new year.

So, Christmas is over. It's so easy to make excuses over this time of year, and I am the queen of them it seems! I decided to go to the meeting here having left my last one, but I am primarily going to do it through Esource/Online because it's cheaper. It'll be hard not having the meeting to back my up, but if our financial situation changes then I can have a look at going back to the meetings.

There is a meeting at the library at 10am, and there doesn't appear to be any announcement that it isn't on, so I will go with my tail between my legs, get weighed in, and pick up the ProPoints stuff, because I've not even TRIED it!

I hope you are all having a fun and peaceful (!!) festive period.

Happy Slimming =)

losing 4lbs and possibly putting it all back on...hmph.

Well, I lost 4lbs at WI - taking me down to 15st 4lbs (so lowest recorded WW weight), but Thursday and Friday's eating was absolutely awful - I cannot even begin to imagine how much I drank or ate. So the Wii is saying I've put that all back on, marvellous :(

I only have myself to blame and I'm going to have to restrict like hell just to get a STS, never mind a loss. I am so stupid!

Hope you are all fairing better,

Happy Slimming =)
